I need a Music Player for PPC 2002

Postby mpg187 » Tue Nov 17, 2009 4:35 pm

My iPAQ and Phone are limited in storage, I have an iPAQ that takes Compact Flash and I can use a 32 GB SDHC card in it with an SD(HC) to Compact flash card.

The problem is this iPAQ only has 2002 and Pocket Music doesn't work. Is there a version of Pocket Music for PPC 2002?

Won't Windows Media Player work? It was included with Pocket PC 2002.

If that doesn't support some format you need, you can try GSPlayer, which says it's for Pocket PC 2000, or maybe you can find an older version of the Core Pocket Media Player.

I don't think this PDA has Windows Media Player.

I didn't like WM for PPC anyways, there was no straight option to open files in a folder, it just gave a list with all the files, making it hard to find the one I wanted. I am not sure, but I think it only went 1 subdirectory deep as most of the programs did.

WM Player in WM 6.1 is better and I can open files easier, but I am still more used to Pocket Music and that's for WM 6.1 though.

I'll give GS Player a try...

I'm pretty sure they included Windows Media Player in every device since Pocket PC 2000. I'm almost certain that iPAQs had it.

If you want to play a file in a specific folder, you can just use File Explorer. Navigate to the folder and double tap the file. If you want to play more than one file in the folder in a row, though, you have to make a playlist.

Making a playlist means you have to open the files in media player which I can't do...

And I am pretty sure it's not on this iPAQ, there isn't even a file association for MP3 files...
