It's annoying when I run ouf of space

Postby mpg187 » Fri Apr 09, 2010 3:56 pm

So on my phone I run out of space lots and it's really annoying when I get messages. When it runs out, I get two error messages at the same time and have to close them both just to free up some space.

And then when I open Opera (To clear my cache to free up space) I get the messages again.

Is there a way to make it only give the messages once?

I assume you're referring to storage (file) memory, not program memory. I don't recall getting them twice. It's possible that different programs are trying to write to the file system at roughly the same time (or that one program tries, fails and tries again), so you get the error twice because of that.

I think there are two limits in Windows Mobile for storage warnings. The "higher" one gives you the first message, letting you know that you might want to free up space. The "lower" one gives you the second, letting you know that you had better free up space.

If you're getting them both together, either some program is writing large files (you didn't actually try to run phpBB on Windows Mobile, did you?) or the values are too close together. If I recall correctly, the values are saved in the registry somewhere.

I haven't been using phpBB yet.

But ya I get them together. Ya one sounds like it's just a "Recommendation" and the other sounds like a warning.

Maybe what's happening is I get the first one and before I close it a program is still writing files and I get the second one. But it should be smarter and not give the second one if the first one is up...
